So I went looking around for Egyptian stuff a couple weeks ago and noticed that while there are Egyptian accessories and props available, there are no appropriate clothings to go with them! Scratch that, there's an Egyptian-style kilt for M2, that seems to be what everyone is still using. I smell a niche! So today I started modeling an Ancient Egyptian dress-set for V4, I'm going to have two basic tops, two basic bottoms and then a couple of different wraps. I've just finished roughing out the basic shape of skirt number two (skirt number one will be more simple, just falling loose from the waist.) I need to wrinkle it up, add a tie to the top and then plump out the fabric.

Oh, yes, hi. Somewhere around the time I'd fixed the elbow fall-off and was trying to figure out what was wrong with the fingertip, a buddy I met through the Blender forums popped up in my instant-messenger and sent me the link to this forum. I was wishing just yesterday that I had somewhere to get commentary on my WIPs, because most of the people who watch my DeviantArt are 2D types.

Well, if you don't mind, I'd like to move the discussion about Morphing Clothes over here. Since it's not a Daz product, I'm a little uncomfortable discussing it over there. Not sure it's allowed.........encouraged......something like that?

So I've actually started over three times now, trying to figure out the best shape to sculpt this from; I think I've got it now. this type of skirt is a huge rectangle of cloth, gathered at the waist into a very basic skirt, and then a couple of handfuls of the hem have been grabbed up and tied in front to make it tight-fitting. Very simple to sew, very complicated to model. I seem to be finding that a lot, actually, the things that are easy to sew are always the worst to model and the things that are really obnoxious to sew are totally simple to model. Roxanne- I'm pretty sure it's not against the rules, because I've been asking about Figure Setup Tools and that's a D/S product, but it's cool, I can talk to you here just as easy. Should I start a thread for the gloves somewhere (the Hex to Daz forum?)?

Now, on this skirt............ If you intend the model to "sit" you'll probably need to pull the back up on her waist a bit. If you don't, when conformed into a sitting position, the stretching will be extreme.
