It can, but why add polygons to the mesh? You have them there already.

Dissociated all the way to the top. Then grab some edges and pulled over the other. How do I merged this? Or does it need to be merged? What do I do with the edges that are underneath(the ones I pulled the other side over) and won't be shown? Attachments:

Lookin' good! Making progress with the Fawn shoes, but each petal has to be done by hand. Here's a hint on your flower petals - put lots of polygons in each petal or you will get ragged edges. In order to keep the poly count down, I add polys to the petals through Free Tesselate rather than smoothing. Use soft selection to get the petal bends. Attachments:

I pray I don't have to use the snap/align tool on this looped edge. It's the bane of my existence. :/

What do I do with the edges that are underneath(the ones I pulled the other side over) and won't be shown? You don't merge. No need to. Do nothing with those edges except where they can be seen. You could always point weld the other side if you want, but why? Just make sure no polygons pass through or touch other polys. My internet is behaving very badly today, so pardon the delays in responding.

Snap/Align doesn't work. Tried it once, never touched it again.

Ahhh, you should have disassociated the top before you cut in that overlap........not sure how you put it back together......weld points?

Ahhh, you should have disassociated the top before you cut in that overlap........not sure how you put it back together......weld points? Fixed. ;D Think I'm in over my head a lil. I am going to ask EZ if he can do a video on how to do this dress. I have a lot of questions and you're already busy trying to do your dress, that I can't ask you to sit and teach me. (It's the petals part and maybe the overlay (may have to use the lay on tool) I'm having trouble with) Attachments:

There's nothing to do with the overlay - you're making it entirely too difficult. Remember, unlike clothes that MOVE, your mesh stays put without any pins, buckles or ties. It floats in midair. You don't have to connect anything to anything because it sits on top of the model. At any rate, just play. It really isn't hard.

Go into D|S and pull up my Fairy Dress. In surfaces, set the Top Petals to 0 opacity.
The Bottom Petals are attached to nothing.

I always saw the problems when things weren't welded...they'd break in Poser so I thought all things HAD to be connected/merged.

Keep posting your progress, Rox. It gives me inspiration. Sorry, taking a break. So far today, I did the Fawn costume (only boots to finish), the M4 Pajamas and started the blue fairy.

Silvermyst started. I have no idea if this is even going to work. Lots and lots of Tri polygons because I used Free Tesselate to create the lines for the folds. I'm going to try to rig it like it is to see if it works. Attachments:

Only n-gons. isn't it when it comes to texturing that tris can cause some distortion? I really have no idea. I just read someone that all Poser polygons should be quads, so I have always made sure I HAVE quads. I've got some reversed polygons on there, and the left front of the skirt bottom is cutting through the right front, but I'm just surprised it worked at all. I went pretty nuts with free tesselate!

Don't know how much free time she'll have, but yes, very cool none-the-less. UV Mapping that dress was NOT easy. But I got it. The underarm on the left is squished, but pins didn't help. ---------------------- edit: Actually, I went back and UV mapped with the projection editor and got a much better map.
