What exactly is a lightmap, Ez? ill give you my term of what it is, light+map the light displays how the map will show, ever herd of texture map? when the light reflects off the map it will display from the texture map, lets say your taking a picture of a new shinny car, what will you see when you take a picture? thats right a reflection and the environment around will show in the reflection, so when your looking at the paint you will see like the sky reflection and all the environment around and this is what you would call a Map Reflection which is a texture lightmap light relflects off the map/texture and displays how it looks. some people may consider this in other apps as a material .. look in the top pic i have a arrow pointing to it and you can change any of them you want. HDRI images are great to create lightmaps texture

I see the arrow pointing to something (looks like the camera icon) but am not sure because I have the worst eyes and the attachment doesn't enlarge. I know of Hdris that are usually wrapped around a globe. I know of a reflection map as a texture. This acts in the same manner, but what are you using? Are you using a texture? or a light?

yes you got to click it.
any icon in hexagon that has a white arrow on the bottom right of the icon is clickable and will expand open so you can see other options

ignore my post about the normals that wasn't the problem. im trying to get used to this new used wide screen monitor that im not accustom to, and every thing looks wide and kind of flat and i was judging your pic off of what i seen, i set the screen to square but then its to small
