I found this forum because I'm trying to make clothing--specifically a pair of pants for M4. I had started already, then lo and behold, DS4Pro became available for free, with the Figure Setup Tools. So I thought, well this will be easy now, I won't have so many hoops to jump through.
Nope, sorry. Can't seem to get anything to work the way it seems it should. I try to use the Figure setup tab, copy the skeleton from M4, import my own geometry with all the groups correctly set up, follow the instructions exactly from any tutorials I could find (most of which apply to DS2 or 3), and create my pair of pants. When I fit to M4, the pants explode.
Another tut said to use the transfer utility, but this seems to only work with the Genesis figure.
Help! Anyone know how to make the figure setup tools work with M4? Is there just something simple I'm missing? (Besides thorough documentation)
As a side note, it's great that DS4 Pro is free for a limited time, I grabbed it up and I'm grateful. But after messing around with it for a few days, another part of me wonders why anyone would pay good money for it. It's slow(64 bit DS4 takes about twice or 3 times as long to load M4 as 32 bit DS3), cluttered, nothing seems to work. It seems like a beta program at best, not something that should be offered as a paid-for program. Just my rant, maybe it's my frustration coming through.

only used FST once for v4 an that worked ok, did u take the IK off and the morphs out of the m4 u used?? (need to add the morphs back in to the cloth after) if you have done that, then can you post some screenshots, also what have you made the pants in? hex blender other lol and how did you group them?? the names MUST be exactly the same as in the doll , eg rForeArm
and your right transfer thing is only for genisis as far as I know, can you not use the male genisis?? or would that cause more probs
DS isnt a bad proggy but the pricing is OTT I normaly use poser but getting ds4 for free does give me a new toy to play with

Weswood, your not the only one who has this problem. I myself can't help you. Although I'm reading many tutorials, and I'm thinking that every day I get a little closer, but I still can't get straighten out the process. I wish there was a good reference guidebook. You are further in this matter as I am. Keep on searching and tell us what you find. Wish you all the best. Frits

Transfer utility works fine even with V4/M4, but you have to convert her first to Weight map. Load V4 - select ---Scene tab > edit - convert to TriAx Weight Mapped. (check the morph for her eyes up/down and left-right, sometimes they don't move any longer. Start the weight map procedure again) Then load/import your clothes - select clothes ---Scene tab > edit - convert to subD. ------Scene tab > assets - transfer utility - (left side V4, right side-Clothes, tick off option: add smooth modifier - accept. That's all. You can fit everything else to V4/M4, but all the morphs will be written over. Therefore I don't "fit" the hair, but I change the Parent from None to V4-Head. Good luck.
