OK, I downloaded CAM Studio to record my screen so I can put up a video of UV mapping with Hexagon.
I've recorded it, just have to do some edits and it will be ready.

Had a quick flip through (just looked at the pics, did read some of the comments) and I must say Roxannej - I'm impressed with the clothes you've made. Personally, I think doing the unfolding of models is the hardest part of modeling. I've tried Roadkill and the like, but all those shortcut keys confuse the hell out of my single brain cell.
One thing I'm learning about UVmapping in Hex is to look at all the views especially the pinning axis, I think the idea is to get the squares equal(ish) in size all over the mesh. Pinning wise, depending what you are making, where you pin things, I normally start one line in (this is about centre of the object next to the blue cut line) and move inwards, aiming to get the squares about the same size.

Thanks, John. I'm learning. Slowly, but surely.

I'm in the same boat Roxannej, but feel free to send me a HXN file if you want me to try to unfold it for you - cannot promise anything
