Anyone have any suggestions how I can get this texture using Photoshop CS5? I have a tablet and pen, but I just can't figure out the best way to get this look. Transparency for the ripples? And just paint in the edging? That's what I've been trying, but I'm just not having very good luck with it. Attachments:

dunno about in photoshop but in gimp for just a short way paint it if you need lots of it make a coloured brush (2 gradients like in ur example pic) set the size to the pen pressure and draw away then use a splatter brush to add some "dots" then motion blur to make the lines add some highlights and shadows blur again try the magicwand to pick up a centre line adjust if u have to or paint it in on new layer colour it in a light shade then add a drop shadow to it
now tell me how to add a pic please and I hope you got an easy way to do it ;-)
