OK, so I'm working on this jacket for M4. I put the buttons on (cloned set of buttons) and placed them properly, then did a weld. Later, after smoothing, I had to move a few of them around, but no problems there....
So, I'm trying to create an "Open" morph which is going well, except that the buttons stay right where I put them! Yikes!
I'm doing the open morph by selecting the front seam, loop, soft selection to 3 and moving the polygons right or left and/or foward a bit being careful to not cross polygons or edges.
Any ideas? Something I'm doing wrong? Just need to include each button in the selection?

yes u need to include the buttons when u make the morph but if you have welded them on I woulda expected the soft select to have picked them up ?

Thought that was strange as well. It's why I asked here. Would it be a problem if I did another weld? If they welded successfully the first time, would I be able to move them later?

unless you do the average weld (after a weld) then they are not FULLY connected so soft select can will does (lol) sometimes miss them doin another weld will result in the same as u have now and doing average weld WILL (unless ur an angel) mess everything up but if u did weld them (without messing up ) then u can use the dissociate tool to break them apart again (not always easy)
how did u put the buttons on ?? I would use copy on suport make the suport from the polys u want the buttons on then do the morph and make a NEW suport off the morphed obj picking the same polys as u did on the original hope that makes sense can do pics if u need em

Actually, I made them snaps, 5 on each side of the jacket. I can never get copy on support to work the way I expect it to. It's just easier to place them. I just did a weld, not an average weld. Average weld never works for me, so I just pretend it's not there. LOL. I got the selection working, but now the morph isn't loading. Grrr, I hate morphs! Attachments:
